Idividual Approach to Education

Every student is important

At Mpohor Senior Secondary School, we believe that everyone has a God-given potential which needs to be developed. That is why our teachers focus on the individual student rather than the group. That is why we believe in knowledge and self reliance. We believe every individual is different in a special way and every individual can acquire knowledge sufficient to make them self reliant. No student is therefore a waste material.

As it is said, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste. That is why we aim to provide education for all; even the poor and marginalised in society who otherwise would have had no access to secondary education. Alexander Pope put it most appropriately: "A little learning is a dangerous thing". We therefore beleive total learning is absolutely essential, no matter the cost. Poverty must not be a barrier to total learning.

In focusing on the individual student and their capabilities, we do not neglect the importance of group dynamics. At Mpohor Senior Secondary School, students learn to be identified by a group whiles demonstrating their individual ability. Individual ability therefore becomes indespensable and desirable in the groups.
